The exhibition “La fragile bellezza. Nuove visioni per la Chies Diruta” began on June 12 and will continue until January 6th 2022.

It was created through the collaboration between Wonder Grottole and Reuse Italy, an enterprise created to focus public attention on the theme of reuse of the Italian abandoned architectural heritage.

The exhibition presents the winning projects and mentions of the international competition of ideas Re – use The Fallen Church, for the reuse of the “Diruta Church” in Grottole, one of the most scenic ruins of the territory in Southern Italy. Never completed, following several earthquakes and fires, it was subsequently abandoned.

The competition, open to architects, engineers and students, asked participants to turn the ruin into a concert center.

The exhibition is itinerant: it involves several abandoned houses in the historic center of Grottole, an opportunity to observe the projects present, reflect on the theme of living and explore the old town semi-abandoned.

The exhibition is open to the public (by reservation) Saturdays and Sundays.
